Biosta Miracle Sprouter
The Biosta Miracle Sprouter is great for those who are just beginning their adventure in sprouting. It takes up little space, is very easy to use and easy to clean. And best of all, it allows you to enjoy fresh sprouts from your kitchen throughout the year.
It has 3 stackable trays to sprout 3 different types of sprouts at the same time. Each tray measures 7.75" in diameter and 1.5" high. They have ridges on the bottom and a drainage cap to drain the water after rinsing. It also comes with a convenient water collection tray.
To rinse the sprouts simply fill the top tray with water and the sprouter will do the rest as the water drains from one tray into the next, and conveniently collects in the bottom water collection tray. It is very important that this tray is emptied within 15 minutes of rinsing, or you may run into problems such as mold. I have also noticed that not all the water drains. To solve this problem I like to slightly tilt the trays and dab the extra water up with a paper towel.
The Biosta Miracle Sprouter is designed for small seeds only as there is not a whole lot of room for the seeds to grow. Some of the seeds suitable for the Biosta Miracle Sprouter are alfalfa, mustard, broccoli, cress, radish, and clover. It is not intended for larger seeds such as beans, or wheatgrass.
Depending on what type of seeds you use, you only need 1-2 tablespoons of seeds for each tray. Seeds should be soaked, and rinsed according to the package. The sprouts are ready in about 2-5 days and are best when consumed immediately, but can also be stored in the refrigerator for several days.
After each use the Biosta Miracle Sprouter should be cleaned thoroughly using warm soapy water and a brush to get into all the ridges within the trays. You can also use bleach or a food-grade peroxide to get rid of any hidden mold that can potentially infect the next batch.
The Biosta Miracle Sprouter is available in green or clear plastic. It comes with instructions, helpful tips, and even includes recipes.
